Key points
- Point values differ: MES $5, MNQ $2, MYM $0.50 and M2K $5 per index point; each micro is one-tenth of its E-mini.
- Dollars = points x point value x contracts, or ticks x tick value x contracts. If the two disagree, recheck the tick size.
- A 10-point move is $50 on MES or M2K, $20 on MNQ and $5 on MYM, so compare stops in dollars, not points.
- All four are cash settled on the third Friday of March, June, September and December; most traders roll before expiry.
- Margin levels change; get current figures from CME and your broker, and size from your stop, not from margin.
